December 23: Nativity, Luke 2.1 – 20

Finally gathered all together are Joseph and Mary and all the animals of the manger. The angels will proclaim to shepherds and the wisemen are on their way. All is ready, they wait in hope for the nativity to be complete.

“O little town of Bethlehem, How still we see thee lie, above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by. Yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting light, the hopes and fears of all the years, are met in thee tonight.”

O Little Town of Bethlehem’s text was written by Phillips Brooks in 1868.
