December 16: Poinsettia, Psalm 98

In Mexico poinsettias are known as the Flores de Noche Buena (Flowers of the Holy Night). The folktale tells of a girl with no gift for Jesus who brings a simple weed into the church which was miraculously turned into a beautiful red flower adorning the manger.
